1. What TapThatLand is

TapThatLand (the “Platform”), operated by [OPERATOR], is a general-purpose virtual tabletop and deck-building tool for trading card games. It is a neutral platform: it does not create, own, publish, sell, licence, or distribute any trading card game, or that game’s cards, artwork, names, or rules.

The Platform is a tool. You decide which games and content you use it with, and you are responsible for that use. Any paid features relate solely to the Platform itself (for example, additional deck storage, additional rooms, and convenience features) — never to game content, which remains free to view.

2. How card content works

Where the Platform shows cards from a particular game, the card data and images are retrieved from third-party sources at your direction and displayed for your personal, non-commercial play. To the maximum extent practical, this content is fetched and rendered by your own browser/device; the Platform aims not to store or host third-party card images or proprietary card data on its servers.

The Platform is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any game publisher or any card-data provider.

3. Intellectual property & game content

All card names, images, text, logos, and related trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Their appearance on the Platform is for identification and personal play only and does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.

Magic: The Gathering

TapThatLand is unofficial Fan Content permitted under the Fan Content Policy. Not approved/endorsed by Wizards. Portions of the materials used are property of Wizards of the Coast. © Wizards of the Coast LLC.

Magic: The Gathering card data and images are provided by Scryfall. TapThatLand is not produced by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Scryfall, and is subject to Scryfall’s terms of use.

Other games

Where additional games are supported, each game’s ownership notice appears here. Each such game and its cards, names, artwork, and marks are the property of their respective owners, and the Platform is unofficial and not affiliated with or endorsed by those owners.

Note for the operator: only list a game here once you have confirmed you are permitted to display its content. A notice does not grant a licence you do not otherwise have.

4. Acceptable use

You agree that you will:

  • use the Platform only for lawful, personal, non-commercial play and deck-building;
  • not upload, load, or share content that infringes anyone’s intellectual property or other rights;
  • comply with the terms of any third-party service whose content you access through the Platform (including Wizards’ Fan Content Policy and Scryfall’s terms);
  • not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit any game content obtained through the Platform;
  • not abuse, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform or other users’ data.

We may suspend or terminate access that breaches these terms or that we reasonably believe creates legal risk.

5. Accounts, subscriptions & billing

Some features require an account. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your credentials secure.

The Platform offers an optional paid subscription. Paid plans unlock platform features only (such as additional saved decks, additional rooms, and convenience tools). They do not grant any rights in, or paid access to, any game’s cards or content, which remain free to view.

  • Payments are processed by [PAYMENT_PROCESSOR]; by subscribing you also agree to their terms.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically for the chosen billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current paid period.
  • Prices may change with reasonable notice for future billing periods.
  • Refunds: [describe your refund policy, or the minimum required by your jurisdiction / [PAYMENT_PROCESSOR]].

6. Privacy

This section explains what we collect and why. [Confirm this matches what your deployment actually does before publishing.]

What we collect

  • Account data — e.g. username and (if provided) email, and a securely hashed password.
  • Your content — decks you save and game/room state needed to run play sessions.
  • Technical data — a session cookie to keep you signed in, and basic logs needed to operate and secure the service.
  • Billing data — handled by [PAYMENT_PROCESSOR]; we do not store full card numbers.

How card lookups work

When you search for or load cards, those requests are made from your own browser to the relevant third-party card source (e.g. Scryfall). Your use of those sources is subject to their privacy practices.

How we use it

To operate, secure, and improve the Platform; to provide your account and saved content; and to process subscriptions. We do not sell your personal data.

Retention & your choices

We keep account and content data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at [CONTACT_EMAIL].

7. No warranty

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, availability, accuracy of any third-party card data, or non-infringement. You use the Platform at your own risk.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, [OPERATOR] will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Platform. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or the minimum permitted by law.

9. Intellectual-property complaints & takedown

We respect intellectual-property rights. If you are a rights holder (or their agent) and believe content displayed through the Platform infringes your rights, contact us at [CONTACT_EMAIL] with:

  • identification of the work and the material at issue (with enough detail for us to locate it);
  • your contact information;
  • a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised; and
  • a statement, under penalty of perjury where applicable, that the information is accurate and that you are authorised to act for the rights holder.

We will review valid requests promptly and remove or disable access to the material where appropriate.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update this About & Legal page from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above, and where appropriate we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Contact
